Bio
I am a self-taught classical pianist with over 20 years of experience playing the piano. I specialise in the teaching of piano through the Czerny method, as a means of acquiring technique and musical knowledge. I aim to give students the best foundation in order to be able to learn repertoire.
I expect all my students to be able to play all technical work, such as scales, arpeggios and octaves by heart. I also aim to assist the student in working through all the Czerny exercises. Simultaneously, I intend to choose repertoire that is at the level of the student.
I expect a high turnover of pieces to be learnt and encourage students to practise as much as possible. I can assist students with their AMEB examination. I also encourage students to improvise as a supplement to their repertoire learning and as a means to becoming a better musician overall.
My fees are 80$/hr and $50/half hour. First lessons are free of charge. I teach from my studio which is located in the Ashfield area.

Regarding myself, as a self-taught pianist, most of my training has been through my own research, although I have had teachers when I was younger. I also had the experience of doing a semester course on piano playing at UNSW. My goal is not to make a living from teaching, but to share my wisdom with other students.
