Bio
My name is Emily and I’ve been playing musical instruments since the age of nine. I’ve been playing the flute for 14 years and the piano for 10 years now. I have a huge love for music and a passion for teaching others especially young children. I love to teach modern and popular music and also a little of the classics. Making music lessons fun and educational is what I love doing most and seeing all my students have fun while learning new songs each week makes me all the more excited to teach the instruments that I love.
Teaching Info
In each lesson students will learn new pieces, go over their homework pieces and have a little music theory time. However, I try to throw in a game or two that will help with their rhythm or sight-reading if there’s time. I like to make sure we can have some fun! Students will learn from a progressive piano method book which will then one day enable them to play fun supplementary pieces of their choice. I am classically trained so I can teach some of the classics and I also love to introduce improvisation into modern and popular songs.
