I’ve been teaching as a full time self employed Guitar/Bass/Uke teacher for over 45 years and given at least 80.000 private lessons in that time.

I have written 5 guitar methods and a Ukulele method to enhance my lessons.

Teaching is not a “side Hustle” for me. Its something I give a lot of time and thought to.

I teach all ages, levels and styles. I concentrate on developing real world skills that will allow students to be successful at auditions, jam sessions and open mic nights…..or just be a good social player for fun at a family get together.

I teach social players to the same high standard as my more career orientated students.

PROFESSIONAL TUITION

Learning bits and riffs of favourite songs is just entertainment, not tuition…and I see a lot of this when I take on students from less experienced teachers or people who have tried to teach themselves from the net or video.

I have a structured program that will take you from an absolute beginner to where ever you want to go, be it social playing, to amateur band, or industry pro.

When you have reached a certain level of skill….we take your interests in to account and help you play the style or songs that inspire you. IT ALSO HAS TO BE FUN TOO 🙂

His highly organised and structured program put you in the best position to develop as a player regardless of how far you want to go with it. I was pleasantly surprised (and frankly a little shocked-after what I was used to) at the quality of the resources he provides. Text books , backing tracks and videos coming seamlessly together in a systematic way to teach you the lessons are testimony to the time and effort Bob has put into his program. No hastily scribbled pieces of paper anywhere to be seen. Combined with Bob’s patience and good humour I would recommend to anyone wanting to give music a go to look Bob up. He’s a great teacher!

I highly encourage all ages to get lessons from him as he takes time in structuring his lessons INDIVIDUALLY for his students (I have multiple other friends who go to him, so I hear what they learn too) depending on their starting level. Always having a good laugh with Bob too, strongly recommend attending, the sooner the better.

My daughter has been with him since primary school and now has such a skill and passion for music she has continued into year 9 high school and plans to take it up as an elective. My other daughter has taken up Bass and in such a short time has learnt so much. He is unlike Like other music teaching facilities around which do not teach the important fundamentals first. My daughters can not only play, they write music and compose songs. They both adore Bob and have developed this teacher student bond. He is patient and kind and his vast knowledge and his passion for music and teaching comes through always. My recommendation can not come high enough for this person that has instilled a love for music in both my children. That in itself is priceless

As soon as we started with Bob I noticed something clicked with my son and he was on his way. Bob has a wide knowledge of music and instruments and his teaching style is thorough with just the right amount of fun.

Bob’s experience and professionalism is reflected in the way he conducts lessons for his students. Bob is very patient and understanding in regard to his students needs and abilities. I found Bob and have been attending for over 6 months now and I have learned heaps - chords, easy and difficult, timing (something I never had) confidence and an inner delight that I am making progress. And as Bob states - Perfect Practice will make Perfect Playing! His facilities are very good, his style is relaxed, and he is very knowledgeable. Particularly the backing songs which help with timing and getting the beat. As a beginner he is very patient and has a wealth of experience to share. I had one teacher who went to sleep during my lesson, while another used my lesson time for his own practice.
