Bio
Luna is a clarinettist based in Sydney. Originally from Yokohama, Japan, she graduated from Toho Gakuen School of Music in Tokyo, studying under Yoshinobu Kamei.
Luna currently plays with the Opera Australia orchestra in Sydney. She was a 2023 National Orchestral Institute fellow in Maryland USA, studying masterclasses under world-renowned artists Ricardo Morales, Yehuda Gilad, Victoria Luperi and Michael Wayne. She has played with the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, the Auckland Philharmonia, and the Toho Gakuen Orchestra. Through volunteering in the Music Explorer Concert Project, she engaged with children and families affected by the 2011 Tohoku Earthquake, supporting them through the gift of music.
Luna also offers Bass Clarinet and Eb clarinet lessons.
Teaching Info
You can learn at your own pace. Clarinet fundamentals are the most important, so we will focus on making sure that you have the basic technique so that you can build up your skills. We will work on how to practice so you can improve in your own time. Then we can move to preparing for ensemble performances. We can work with your chosen material or we can follow a musical course matched to your level.
