Bio

First Lesson is FREE

I usually stay longer than 1 hour yet charge only the hourly rate.

The reasons I happen to stay longer are:

  1. I care greatly about the student’s progress and want to leave on a good note
  2. I’m a passionate teacher; I got it from my music teacher grandfather, who married a gymnastics teacher!
  3. I don’t have many students because I’m selective, therefore do not run on a tight schedule

A Bit About Me: During my pursuit of the AMusA, I had the privilege of learning from top saxophonist educators, including Melinda Atkins, who taught world-renowned saxophonist Amy Dickson.

With a degree in Psychology and Neuroscience, I rely on a deep understanding of how the brain works, including maximising mind-muscle connection to help students fix their mistakes and retain concepts in their minds.

With over 10 years of private tutoring experience, I am passionate about guiding students on their musical journey. My approach is focused on helping students feel and deeply understand music, and instilling general work ethic for life.

Flexible and Convenient: I’m flexible with both availability and location—if it’s easier, I’m more than happy to come to your home for lessons!

Feel free to text me at the number below to book your free lesson or ask any questions!

Teaching Info

We can take whatever journey you want take, whether that’s the AMEB program or your own exploration of music. You’ll learn tone control, technique, muscality, reading sheet music, performance and more.

My Top 3 Values:

Honesty

Without honesty, there is no true course correction. It’s my job to put students on the right path by telling them exactly what theyr’re doing good and what they need to improve on. There is no point in hiding the reality of hard practice; you need to burn to shine.

Fun

In the long term, nothing is acheived under stress and fatigue. Lessons are fun because it promotes our energy and motivation while learning each AMEB grade.

“People rarely succeed unless they have fun in what they are doing.” – Dale Carnegie

Self-Accountability

Most practice is done without the teacher. So, students must be self-accountable, being their own teacher at home. This means fixing their mistakes as soon as they make them, and practicing only the problem sections.
