Bio

I have a few availabilities open for term 4 for instrumental tuition in saxophone and flute tuition as well as Jazz and contemporary music knowledge/ applications.

I am currently studying a Bachelor of Jazz Improvisation at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music under a full scholarship. I am also a current working professional, having worked with many nationally and internationally acclaimed artists including ” Harry Connick Jr”. This year I was selected as a member of the 2024 Australian National Jazz Orchestra, an opportunity that brings together Australia’s best young jazz musicians aged 18 – 25. Entry to the orchestra is through competitive auditions held annually using an anonymous ‘blindfold system’.

I received the top ranking, first in course in music at Killara High School in three consecutive years including (2020) for Music 2, and Music Extension. Furthermore, I received an encore nomination for my HSC practical examination for outstanding performances in the Music 2 and extension course. I also teach HSC music 1 and 2, in composition ( Jazz and Contemporary), performance and musicology.

I offer saxophone lessons in the northern suburbs (Sydney), as well as offering online lessons to those restricted due to COVID or travel complications.

Teaching Info

Teaching Info:

I am an energetic tutor who is able to create a friendly and safe environment that helps each student reach their full potential and own personal goals. My teaching methods involve utilising resources developed by myself as well as external resources to address areas of interest and skill. My methodology has been proven to  maintain students’ interest and engagement, developing practice routines and methods that allow them to keep track of there progress towards there greater musical endeavours. Students may also choose to enrol in musical exams (optional) such as AMEB to receive a certificate for their musical level. I teach all levels from beginners to very advanced players (professional standards)

Having played the saxophone for over a decade, I have found a passion for sharing my musical knowledge through tutoring. I have taught various students over the past years from ranging skill levels and genres including students who are complete beginners to prolific jazz improvisation standards, helping them achieve their own personal goals.

Also have a valid WWCC.

Lessons take place in my comfortable home studio, a 5 minute walk from Gordon Station!
