Chris Raggatt has taught professionally for thirty five years and teaches privately and in schools. Some of the school Chris teaches and has taught at are, Saint Augustines College, Balgowlah Boys High, Barrenjoey High School, and Kameroi Rudolf Steiner School. He has also done HSC coaching and accompaniment at Knox Grammar School.
Chris (aka CJ Raggatt) is a full time musician and plays regularly in Sydney. In 2017 CJ representing New South Wales at The International Blues Challenge in Memphis Tennessee after winning the solo/duo section of the Sydney Blues Society blues competition.

CJ Raggatt is an exciting Blues and Roots performer from Sydney Australia.
The CJ Raggatt Band thrill audiences with their stomping original Rhythm and Blues music but can also mesmerize with beautiful acoustic and steel guitar ballads with three part vocal harmonies. They embrace Country, Gospel, Blues and Reggae music.
The Band includes Antero Ceschin on Drums, (ex Mighty Reapers) and
John Tweed on Keys and Keyboard Bass, (ex Renee Geyer)
CJ plays a double-neck guitar of his own design, incorporating an open-tuned slide guitar and a conventional six-string electric guitar.
Harmonica player Kelvin Carlson and CJ won the solo/duo section of the Sydney Blues Society blues competition and represented Sydney at the 2017 International Blues Challenge in Memphis Tennessee.
CJ is one of Australia’s finest slide guitarists, his playing has been compared to that of Derek Trucks, Bob Brozman and John Butler. He was also a founding member of top Australian band “Matt Finish”.

Teaching Info
I like to teach students using songs the student loves, and show the techniques, chords, scales, and theory involved within those songs. I focus on the practical skills to get the student playing from the start, and introduce theory and also music reading as the student is ready and depending on their needs.
I play many styles of Electric and Acoustic guitar including slide guitar, finger picking, open tunings, bass guitar, jazz, blues, reggae, pop, rock, and love it all.
