Cello Adventures is a warm and friendly cello studio run by cellist Monica Lima in Sydney Northern Beaches.
I have been teaching cello for over 20 years and offer expert cello instruction for students from 4 to 94!
I believe in teaching the person first, and then the cello. So, I tailor my teaching by discovering my students individual needs and abilities. I encourage students to set high standards for themselves and then give them the tools to succeed.
I work very closely with parents by showing them how to practice creatively with their kids, and supporting them to create a positive learning environment at home.
I teach that loving music can come from hard work, patient problem-solving, and a persistent pursuit of beauty. I want to inspire my students to love the cello as much as I do so that they can share that love with others.
I love teaching young kids as well as my lovely adults students. I enthusiastically believe that everyone can learn!
I teach from my home studio as well as online via Zoom.

Teaching Info
PRIVATE LESSONS (face to face or online)
Private Lessons happen once a week at your assigned lesson time, and all students take the following lesson lengths:
BEGINNERS: 30 minutes lesson
INTERMEDIATE AND ABOVE: 45 minutes lesson
TEENS & ADULT STUDENTS (from 15 years old): 45 minute lesson
Parent participation is required for students up to 14 years old.
GROUP CLASS
A foundational pillar of my Studio is group class. This is where the magic truly happens. Where young cellists learn to play together, to hear each other’s voices through their cellos, and to grow as a team. Group classes are held once a month on Saturday afternoon.
CONCERTS
The Studio hosts a concert every term on Saturday afternoon. These events are always free to the public and we welcome relatives and friends!
PARENT EDUCATION
Parent education is a big part of the Studio. It involves Parent Email Masterclass when you join the Studio, Parent Nights, and a lending library for parents.
