Bio
Alice has performed, studied and taught the violin in the UK, Germany and Australia.
She is a highly experienced educator, having completed a Master of Teaching and has over 20 years experience teaching violin, viola and ensembles. During this time, she has been Head of Strings St Aloysius’ College, Milsons Point, leading a highly successful Strings program, which doubled in size under her leadership. She has also worked for Sydney Youth Orchestra, Ascham School, Fort Street High School, Monte Sant’Angelo, Roedean College, Brighton, UK and many more schools.
A teaching artist, Alice completed her Masters of Music in Freiburg, Germany; performed Brahms’ Violin Concerto under English National Opera’s Edward Gardner, joined one the UK’s busiest chamber orchestras, Southbank Sinfonia, performing over 60 concerts in 9 months; toured the UK with Dionne Warwick; and played with some of the world’s top ensembles including Academy of St Martin in the Fields, Orchestra of the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, BBC Concert Orchestra, Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, and the Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra.
For the past ten years, Alice has dedicated herself to teaching, with her students receiving excellent results in AMEB exams, HSC encore nominations and Conservatorium audition success.
Ever the dreamer as a child, Alice was constantly told to get OUT of Wonderland! With time and experience however, she realised that this was exactly where she needed to be let her creativity and musicality blossom. She founded Wonderland Music as a place where dreamers are welcome and creativity is nourished.
